It has been noticed that people think that the use of jargon will help the audience to stay connected and influenced. However, the use of jargon is not affected as per thought. Hence, eliminating jargon is a better option while giving a presentation.

Here are some of the reasons why you should avoid the use of jargon…

• Transforms Public Opinion

The use of jargon will obstruct the layman to understand and follow the conversation delivered by the speaker. So, their opinion of the presenter could transform. In case you are leading a team and demonstrating them, then avoid the use of jargon. It might dishearten them.

• Creates Boredom

While doing something that does not interest us, automatically we tend to get distracted from that. In the same manner, while attending a presentation that goes above the head due to the usage of more and more jargon, we intend to do something that fascinates us.

Be it- talking to the neighbor, scrolling over our phones, or looking here and there.

• Difficult to Comprehend

Using jargon with the people you work with regularly is a-okay to keep them working.

But using simple and concise words in front of your audiences is much better to keep them engrossed.

To stay connected to the viewers, avoiding the use of typical and complicated words is suggested. The utilization of technical terms is not very easy to comprehend by the general public.

• No Reminisce

Using more and more technical terms results in the negligible fascination of the audience, and because of this, they get distracted from the presentation. In this case, they do not learn anything new from the presentation. There is nothing of their kind that they can recall.

• Unproductive for People

If there is no connectivity between the message conveyed by the presenter and perceived by the people then the presentation turns out to be unproductive. Using complex and compound language disables the public to comprehend and gain something from the presentation. The speaker ought to make the presentation simple, not complex, by eliminating the use of jargon.
