INTROVERT- A keen contributor in meetings

Well as Stephen Hawking suggests that the quietest people have the loudest mind.

We agree that sometimes there might be a lot to speak for someone but they can't process it into words, due to many reasons. Have you ever faced that?

If yes, then why?

Perhaps, you are an introvert and are fond of silence.

An introvert could only be a keen contributor to the business meetings if they share their views. They generally love to work in silence and avoid group discussions.

But how does one overcome these fears or walk out of their comfort zone?

The most powerful tool of an introvert is observance.

They observe other people’s expressions, body language, their way of talking, and their complete way of communicating. Having a high potential to work for longer hours they enjoy their own company.

Speaking less and observing more sets you ahead of time.

Being an introvert or an extrovert is included in the personality traits.

A person ought to speak while in a business meeting or making any decision.

So, listed below are a few points which one must keep in mind to actively participate in the business meetings.

INTROVERT- A keen contributor in meetings

DO PRIOR PREPARATION

Being prepared beforehand for a meeting is the best way to exhibit your abilities. Form a strategy for the meeting. Get well versed with the meeting agenda. To exemplify, when and where it is to be held. The topic of discussion of the meeting.

And Who is organizing the meeting?

Now,

The next step is to jot down the relevant points related to the meeting and speak as and when required.

This simple preparation will boost up your confidence to speak in front of the meeting

attendees.

BE THE FIRST TO SPEAK

If you are thoroughly prepared for the meeting, be the one to initiate with your ideas. By this, you can be a proud part of the discussion. Others will put their thoughts and this involvement will ensure an active discussion.

HIGHLIGHT YOUR STRENGTHS

An introvert is a good observer as discussed earlier. But other than that introverts are generally active listeners too. Their listening skills are appreciable. It is believed that when we listen without actively responding, we can hear even those things which are skipped by the active speakers.

This means that you can inform if any topic is skipped from being discussed.

You can add another point that could be beneficial for the meeting, and not given by any other member.

You can even reflect on the gist of the meeting.

BE DETERMINED TO SPEAK

Be firm and determined to speak in the meeting. Whatever you speak, either beneficial or not, never mind. Feel free to give your ideas. Just speak out loud whatever knocks in your head.

BUT,

If still, you are not mentally prepared to speak in the crowd then never mind, you need some more time to be prepared.

Your command over the global language could also be a reason for not keeping your points on the table.

If so, move ahead and better consult a trainer.

It will help you to boost your confidence and command over your speech and finally, you will become a contributor from just an active viewer.

Wishing you all the luck!
